The mission of our website is to try to provide a wide range of information and attempt to meet the diverse needs of visitors. Generally speaking, it aims to promote relations between Algeria and the United States of America and establish an interactive connection with the Algerian community living in the US in order to better assist its members, namely with adequate consular services. Algerian singer Souad Massi Will be featured next July 7 in an evening concert at New York’s “Celebrate Brooklyn 2012” festival due to open June 5 until August 11, Bric Arts, the festival’s Website, said.
In its global report on human rights for 2011, issued on May 24, the U.S. State Department noted the progress achieved in Algeria in the area of press freedom, freedom of access to the Internet, and political empowerment of women, mentioning at the same time the issue of corruption.
Speaking at a press conference given during his visit to the Wilaya of Tizi Ouzou, U.S. Ambassador to Algeria Henry S. Ensher declared that “Algeria has been implementing significant political reforms and has held elections which, according to observers monitoring them, took place in a transparent manner.”
At the invitation of Sheikh Hamad Ben Jassem Ben Jaber Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mourad Medelci, took part in the proceedings of the 12th Doha Forum, convened for May 20-22.
