Algeria and Mauritania signed four agreements and an executive program in the area of vocational training on December 11 in Algiers.
The signature ceremony took place at the Presidency and was attended by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz.
The agreements and the executive program were signed by Minister for Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci and his Mauritanian counterpart Hamadi Ould Hamadi.
The agreements signed included an agreement on avoidance of double taxation signed between the Algerian and Mauritanian governments and a twinning agreement in the health and professional safety area between Algeria’s national institute for the prevention of professional risks and Mauritania’s National Office for Occupational Medicine.
The two sides also signed a cooperation convention involving the Algerian National Agency for Public Works Technical Control and the National Public Works Laboratory of Mauritania.
They also signed a cooperation convention between the Algerian National Office for Equipment and Accessories for Disabled People and the Mauritanian National Center for Organ Assembly and Medical Rehabilitation.
Prior to the signature ceremony and on the margins of the talks held by the two heads of state, the two delegations held a meeting co-chaired by the ministers for foreign affairs of the two countries.
The meeting was attended on the Algerian side by Minister of Interior and Local Governments Dahou Ould Kablia, Minister Delegate for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel, Minister of Transportation Amar Tou, Minister of Public Works Amar Ghoul, and Minister of Fisheries and Fisheries Resources Abdallah Khanafou.
On the Mauritanian side, the meeting was attended by Minister of State for Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research Ahmed Ould Bahia, Minister of rural Development Ibrahim Ould Mbarak Ould Mohamed El Mokhtar, Minister of Fisheries and Fisheries Economy Aghdafna Ould Eyih, and Minister of Equipment and Transportation Yahia Ould Had Amine.
