NATO’s Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Dirk Brengelmann spoke today in Algiers of a “very close collaboration” in several areas between Algeria and the Atlantic Alliance.

Speaking to reporters after his meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci, Mr. Brengelmann said the two officials had reviewed the state of cooperation between NATO and Algeria.

“We have noticed that there are several areas of activity where our collaboration is very close,” he said.

Earlier that day, NATO’s Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security had held talks with Minister Delegate for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel.
