At the invitation of his Tunisian counterpart President Moncef Marzouki, the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, took part on January 14 in Tunis in the ceremonies celebrating the first anniversary of the Tunisian revolution.

In an address made on that occasion, the head of the state hailed the gains achieved by that revolution, saying that it has opened a new page in the country’s history.

Moreover, President Bouteflika held talks with Mr. Marzouki and met with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Ben Khalifa Al-Thani, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz, and Libya’s President Mustapha Abdeljalil, before attending an official luncheon hosted by President Marzouki in honor of his guests.
