Minister of Energy and Mining Youcef Yousfi and U.S. Ambassador to Algeria Henry S. Ensher meet yesterday in Algiers to discuss bilateral cooperation in the sector of energy.
The two officials reviewed “cooperation between the two countries in the sectors of hydrocarbons and mining and examined partnership opportunities in the sector of petrochemicals.”
“Local production of equipments used in the petrochemical industry” was another topic discussed, said a ministry statement on the meeting, which added that Mr. Yousfi outlined on that occasion the Algerian program for renewable energy and called for the involvement of U.S. corporations in that sector.
