Algeria condemned today the deadly attack perpetrated two days earlier in Damascus and called for an end to violence in that country.

"Algeria condemns the deadly attack in Damascus, which last Thursday caused numerous victims among civilians," Mr. Amar Belani, the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, indicated in a statement.

"It extends its condolences and its sympathy to the families of the victims and their loved ones and urges all sides to put an end to violence and bloodshed and to favor the path of dialogue which is the only way of solving the Syrian crisis."
