Algérie Presse Service (APS) - Jan. 20, 2013
Minister for Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci declared today in Algiers that the assault led by People's National Army (PNA) Special Forces at the gas plant in Tiguentourine, In Amenas, against a terrorist group has been "responsibly" executed and "quite satisfying."
"The operation was executed with minimal damage thanks to the proven experience of the PNA," Mr. Medelci said, speaking at a press conference held after his meeting with Mrs. Sally Fegan-Wyles, Director General of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
He added that the manner in which the assault was led helped "avoid the drama awaiting us."
Pursuing, he said that Algeria "has gone through difficult days and has mobilized all energies available to her so that it and all those, who in Algeria and other countries targeted by terrorism had lived through that experience, could overcome that ordeal."
