Minister for Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci declared today that Algeria has spared no effort to secure the safe return of its diplomats kidnapped in the northern Malian city of Gao.

Mr. Medelci made his remarks on the margins of the unveiling of an exhibit dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of Algerian diplomacy, saying that, "We express to our brothers, who are patiently going through difficult times as hostages held by terrorist groups, all our solidarity and we assure their families, the community of foreign affairs, and the Algerian people, that the state has been deploying efforts to secure their safe return."

"We are working to secure their return to their loved ones as soon as possible," he added.
