Bamako meeting: Comprehensive strategic approach to solvve the Malian crisis

Minister for Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci delcared yesterday in Algiers that the meeting held on Oct. 19 in Bamako, Mali, helped to design a "comprehensive" strategic approach to a settlement of the crisis in northern Mali, adding that the approach was approved by all parties.

In remarks made at the first meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between Algeria and the United States held at the U.S. State department in Washington, U.S. Under Secretary for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman said yesterday that the Algerian-American strategic dialogue is "the foundation" on which the United States and Algeria want to build their future relations and insisted on the need for expanding cooperation between the two countries.
