ALGIERS - The Ministry of Interior and Local Governments announced today in a statement the agreement of five (05) new political parties.
The new parties were listed to include "Front national de l'authenticité et des libertés" or FNAL (National Front for Authenticity and Freedoms), which is presided by Abdelhamid Djeldjili; "Médiateur politique" also known as "El wassit" (Political Mediator), which is presided by Ahmed Rouibat Larouci; "Parti de l'unité nationale et du développement" or PUND (Party for National Unity and Development), which is presided by Mohamed Dif; "Parti de la voie authentique" or PVA (Party of the Authentic Way), which is presided by Abderrahmane Sellam; and "Union nationale pour le développement" or UND (National Union for Development), which is presided by Mahfoud Gherba.
“In the framework of the continued processing of applications for approval of new political parties addressed to the ministry of Interior and Local Governments and in keeping with the provisions included in Organic Law No. 12-04 dated January 12, 2012, relating to political parties, the minister of Interior and Local Governments) has granted approval decisions to five (05) political parties,” the statement indicated.
Four other political parties had already been approved by the ministry on October 1, 2012, and included "Front du militantisme national" or FMN (Front for National Militancy), "Union pour le rassemblement national" or URN (National Rally Union), "Front des jeunes démocrates pour la citoyenneté" or FJDC (Front of Young Democrats for Citizens Action) and "Tajmoua Amel El Jazair" party or TAJ (Rally for Algeria's Hope).
