Minister for Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci held talks today in Marrakesh, Morocco, with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns.

The talks were held on the margins of the 4th ministerial conference of the Friends of Syria Group, convened in Marrakesh in the aftermath of previous similar meetings in Tunis (February 2012), Istanbul (April 2012) and Paris (July 2012.)

The Marrakesh meeting is the first being held in the wake of unification of Syrian opposition groups within the Syrian National Coalition last November in Doha, Qatar.
