Terrorist attack on Tiguentourine gas plant: President Bouteflika pays tribute to People's National Army troops

The president of the Republic, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, said in a speech delivered today in the eastern city of Annaba that commitment demonstrated by the units of the People's National Army involved in the In Amenas fight has demonstrated that they are "the proud heirs to the National Liberation Army (ALN)."

"It is not an exaggeration to say that the commitment that moved our brave soldiers in the great battle of In Amenas against the forces of evil and destruction is the very illustration of the legacy inherited from our martyrs," said

President Bouteflika, in an address delivered on his behalf by Mr. Mohamed Boughazi, an advisor to the presidency of the Republic, on the occasion of the commemoration of National Martyrs Day.

"The heroes of the battle have demonstrated through their effectiveness, their precision, their professionalism and their triumph that they are the uncontested and unchallenged successors to our valiant martyrs and that the People's

National Army is the proud heiress to the National Liberation Army and the standard-bearer for victory and triumph in all battles in which the nation has committed itself to protect its security, its stability, and its sovereignty," the president of the Republic continued.
