  • Head of Delegation at different International Conferences
  • Head of delegation to Morocco- Saharawi negotiations on Western Sahara

  • Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations, New York (1996-2005)
  • Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations Security Council (2004-2005)
  • President of the Security Council in December 2004
  • President of the 6th NPT Review Conference (New York, April-May 2000).
  • Head of Delegation to the 1st and 2nd NPT Prep Com (1997-1999)
  • Vice President of the 1st Prep Com of the CTBTO (1996-1997)
  • Vice President of the 54th and 59th sessions of the UN GA
