PASSPORTS

Passport Requirements: Documents needed for first-time or renewal passport application.

Copy of valid Consular registration card:

If card is expired please click on: Consular Registration Renewal.

• Fill out APPLICATION
• Notarized copy of Alien Registration Card ("Green Card") or first page of US passport
• Statement of employment or school registration
• Marriage certificate for married women
• Divorce certificate for divorced women (To be officially recognized, a divorce judgment pronounced in the USA must be validated by an Algerian magistrate and made enforceable through the Exequatur procedure)
• Expired passport
• Three (3) standard passport-size photos. Photos must be recent, frontal-view, of the same batch, untouched, taken on white background and showing applicant wearing no glasses of any kind, except for prescription eyewear. Please write first and last names of applicant in pencil on back of photos
• A non-refundable US Post Office money-order only acceptable (individual) made payable to the order of the Embassy of Algeria in the amount of $25. Please write first and last names of applicant at bottom of money-order.
• Cash and personal checks are not accepted
• Self-addressed US postal express mail.
• When children are added to their mother's passport or are issued passport, a notorized father's authorisation is required.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE YOU LOSE YOUR PASSPORT

• Provide copy of lost passport
• Provide police report establishing loss of passport
• Additional fee of $25 is required for lost, damaged or stolen passports.

PHOTOCOPIE DES PASSEPORTS RESTITUES

Nos compatriotes sont informés que, avant de restituer leurs passeports à l'Ambassade, ils sont tenus d'en faire des photocopies. Aucune suite ne sera donnée par l'Ambassade aux demandes qui pourraient lui etre présentées ultérieurement dans ce cadre.

Our fellow citizens are kindely requested to keep a photocopy of the passeports they return to the Embassy.

Any subsequent request will be denied.
