    INSURANCE FOR REPATRIATION OF MORTAL REMAINS OF ALGERIAN NATIONALS DECEASED ABROAD

    The newly created Société d’assurance, de prévoyance et de santé (S.A.P.S.) is an insurance company funded by 1 billion Algerian Dinars (DA) in capital subscribed by MACIF Group (41%), S.A.A. (34%), the Bank for Rural Development (15%) and the Agricultural Bank for Rural Development (10%).

    The Embassy of Algeria in Washington is pleased to announce that the digitizing operation of consular data of the members of the community registered with the Consular Section, undertaken to modernize and streamline delivery of consular services, was completed on March 28, 2011, within deadline and in fulfillment of the commitment made by the Embassy a year ago.

    MILITARY SERVICE EXEMPTION

    NOTICE TO THE COMMUNITY

    The Embassy of Algeria hereby informs Algerian citizens living in the United States that the President of the Republic has decided to exempt from the duties of military service all men aged 30 and over by December 31, 2011, deemed apt for call-up and who have not yet been called up.

    Judicial records

    The Embassy of Algeria in Washington hereby informs registered members of the Algerian community in the United States, as well as any foreign nationals who have resided in Algeria and are currently living in the United States, that they may from now on obtain a copy of their judicial records (Casier Judiciaire No 3) from the Embassy.

    To that end, applicants must provide the following:
    •    Birth certificate
    •    Valid ID
    •    Proof of residency in Algeria (for foreign nationals)
    •    Application fee of $6.25
    •    Self addressed prepaid envelop
    •    Form

    Applications

    In view of the large number of incomplete applications received by the Embassy, the members of the Algerian community are hereby advised to ascertain that all required supporting documents are included along with their application.

    Therefore, the Embassy would highly appreciate the cooperation of all applicants in helping to avoid extending the necessary processing time for applications.
