    Biometric Passport

    The Embassy of Algeria hereby informs the Algerian community living in the United States that the deadline for delivery of passports in their current format is scheduled for November 24, 2010.

    Therefore, compatriots whose passports expire earlier than December 31, 2011, should take advantage of this opportunity to apply for extension or renewal of their passports, making sure to scrupulously follow the instructions posted to that effect on the Embassy website (www.algeria-us.org).

    Visa fees

    The Embassy of Algeria hereby informs American visa applicants of the following changes in visa fee schedule beginning April 1st, 2010:

    • Holders of Diplomatic/Official passport : No charge
    • Holders of Diplomatic passport traveling to Algeria on private visit : $120
    • Other visa categories (Single or multiple entries) :  $135

    Observation :

    • Visa application fees will not be refunded if application is denied.
    • Application processing time: from 2 to 8 days.

    Visa to Algeria

    Starting February 1st, 2010, individual applicants can submit personally their visa applications directly to the Embassy.

    Those who wish to submit their visa applications to "Algeria Visa Center ", may do so.


    Diplomatic/Official/Laissez-passer passport holders are advised to continue to submit their visa applications directly to the Embassy.

    The Embassy will make sure that all visa applications are handled and processed expeditiously.

    If you were born on or before December 31, 1987 and living in the United States of America please submit your application for Exemption to the  Embassy of Algeria to the United States of America/ Service National, with the following documents listed:

    Applications

    It has come to the attention of the Embassy that a significant number of applications submitted to the Office of Consular Affairs are incomplete, thus impeding normal processing and generating consequences likely to hamper travel arrangements by applicants and their dependents.
