| Major axes of the Economic and Social Development Public Program for 2010-2014 |

Algeria Press Service – May 24, 2010 The 2010-2014 Public Program for Economic and Social Development, as reviewed and adopted by the Council of Ministers, is based on six major axes, including human development, basic infrastructure development, public service improvement, economic development, unemployment control, scientific research, and new communication technologies. 9,386.6 billion Algerian Dinars (DA) were set aside for human development and spread out over several sectors of activity.
In this respect, National Education gets 852 billion DA which will be allocated to building over 3,000 primary schools, more than 1,000 middle schools, 850 high schools, and over 2,000 boarding schools, cafeterias, and day-boarding schools. For its part, Higher Education gets 868 billion DA for the construction of campus buildings accommodating 600,000 additional students, off-campus dorms for 400,000 students, and 44 college cafeterias. On the other hand, Continuing Education and Vocational Training is allocated 178 billion DA to support building 220 institutes, 82 training centers, and 58 vocational boarding schools. |
