The Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs makes an official visit to Algeria PDF Print E-mail
Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Franco Frattini is in Algiers on an official visit to Algeria, at the invitation of Algerian Minister for Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci.
 
This visit is taking place in the framework of the continuation of dialogue and intensification of consultation provided for by the Treaty of Friendship, Good-Neighborliness and Cooperation between the two countries.
 
It will enable the two ministers to undertake a comprehensive review of the state of the bilateral relations and will give them the opportunity to exchange views and analyses of a number of current regional and international issues.
 
The talks scheduled between Mr. Frattini and Mr. Medelci, as well as with other Algerian high officials, will make it possible to give new impetus to the relations between the two countries, which have experienced over the past few years an exceptional development in cooperation areas.
 
M. Frattini declared that he conveyed to the President of the Republic the wish of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to partake in the second Algeria-Italy Summit in Algeria.
