Director of African Centre for Study and Research on Terrorism (ACSRT) Francisco Caetano Jose Madeira welcomed, the role of Algeria in counterterrorism, and its experience gained in its fight against this scourge.
"Algeria shares with us its experience in the fight against terrorism and is always open to contribute in this regard," said Madeira, who is also Special Representative of the Commission of the African Union for counterterrorism.
"We are very grateful and proud to work with Algeria," he told APS, after a meeting with members of the National Defence Committee of the People's National Assembly (APN) who visited ACSRT.
Madeira said that Algeria "has played and still plays a very important role" in ACSRT setting up, funding, and operation," recalling that the mission of this centre is to "build the capacity of the African continent to defend against terrorism, combat and neutralize it on its soil."
