Mr. Francisco Caetano José Madeira, Special Representative of the African Union for Counterterrorism Cooperation, was installed in office on December 15 in Algiers as the new director of the African Centre for Studies and Research on Terrorism (ACSRT).

On that occasion, Mr. Madeira declared that "Efficiently accomplishing the tasks I have been entrusted with, in the extremely complex and multidimensional area that is counterterrorism, making a contribution to the joining of efforts in that fight, and continuing to deserve the trust placed in me, such is the challenge that needs to be taken up."
