Algerian-American talks in Algiers on terrorism and African issues

The phenomenon of terrorism and issues related to Africa were at the heart of the talks held yesterday in Algiers between Minister Delegate for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel and two U.S. officials, namely Africom Commander General Carter F. Ham and U.S. Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Johnnie Carson.
During the meeting, Mr. Messahel and the two U.S. officials reviewed bilateral cooperation, notably in the area of counterterrorism, and current African issues, particularly the situation prevailing in Mali, Libya, Somalia, and Sudan.
