Algerian novelist Faiza Guene awarded by UNESCO for the Arab-West dialogue promotion
Algerian novelist, Faiza Guene, was selected by UNESCO as one of fifteen artists under 35 years to be awarded the title of ''Young Artists for Intercultural Dialogue between Arab and Western worlds'' the UN said in a statement.
This distinction, which is part of a series of projects set by UNESCO and the Alliance of Civilizations, "recognizes the outstanding contributions of young people who express themselves through music, dance, writing, theatre, cinema and photography, dialogue and exchange between Arab and Western cultures," the UN added. Born in 1985 in Bobigny (France), Faiza Guene is the author of the novels "Kiffe Kiffe Tomorrow", which was a bestseller in 2004 and was translated in 26 countries, and "Du Reve pour les oufs" (Some dream for crazy people) and "People of Balto."
