In the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the recovery of our national sovereignty, the Embassy of Algeria has organized over the past weekend a series of events including various cultural and artistic activities to the benefit of the Algerian community living in the United States.
The celebration featured on June 30 a concert given by Algerian signer Souad Massi at the Kennedy Center and organized by the Ambassy in partnership with the United States-Algeria Business Council (USABC).
The event was attended by numerous members of the Algerian and Arab communities and by U.S. state Department officials.
The next event was held in partnership with the Algerian-American Association of Greater Washington (AAAGW). The program included cultural and artistic activities, including work by young talents (drawings, poetry, etc.), a fashion show, Algerian dancing, talent competition for which prizes were awarded, and Algerian music.
