Algeria swoops up seven awards at the Ouagadougou festival
Algeria takes part in the 22nd Pan-African Festival of Cinema and Television

The 22nd Pan-African Festival of Cinema and Television (FESPACO), scheduled to convene in the Burkina Faso capital of Ouagadougou (from February, 26th to march, 5th), will regroup 28 African countries and a total of 195 movies of various types, including 12 from Algeria. Our country will enter two features movies (“Essaha”, a musical comedy By Dahmane Ouzid, and “Voyage à Alger” by Abdelkrim Bahloul) in competition for the “Yennenga Gold Stallion” award.


The Algerian writer Ahlam Mosteghanemi has been ranked by internet users, Arab third most popular writer after the Egyptians, Nobel Peace Prize 1988 Naguib Mahfouz and journalist Mohamed Hassanein Heikal.
The 10th edition of the International Fitness and Beauty Show "Jouvençal 2011" opened march,6th at the Culture Palace in Algiers with the participation of some 34 national exhibitors and foreign companies.
