U.S. housing sector delegation expected in Algiers soon

Algérie Presse Service (APS) - November 20, 2012

A delegation of businesspeople representing the U.S. housing sector will be in Algiers on Dec. 2 and 3, Algeria's Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Abdallah Baali, told APS today. The visit by the trade group, which includes leaders from twelve U.S. firms, six of which are sending their CEOs, is arranged by the Embassy of Algeria in partnership with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and the U.S.-Algeria Business Council (USABC).

Participating firms include Victor Saroki and Associates, renew & Sustain, LLC, Vennen Comapny, Ticon International, and Largo Concrete, Inc. This visit, first of its kind involving American firms active in the housing sector, will enable participants to take stock of the Algerian housing market and to discuss investment and partnership opportunities including building construction material in Algeria. Some of the participating firms are interested in construction projects developed in large cities but also in those being developed in the High Plateaus areas and the southern region of the country.

During its visit to Algeria, the delegation will meet with officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and will hold talks with leaders of Algerian public and private firms active in the housing sector.
