Th President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, hosted today U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is making a working visit to Algeria.

The presidential audience took place at the headquarters of the Presidency and was attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs Mourad Medelci, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense Abdelmalek Guenaïzia, Minister of Energy and Mining Youcef Yousfi, and Minister Delegate for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel.

Secretary Cinton's visit "is taking place on the heels of the first meeting of the Algerian-American Strategic Dialogue, which convened on Oct. 19 in Washington and gave a remarkable boost to political concertation between the two countries," the foreign ministry indicated.
