Algérie Presse Service (APS) - December 7, 2012
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns expressed yesterday his satisfaction with the quality of ties between Algeria and the United States.
Speaking to reporters after his audience with the president of the Republic, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Mr. Burns said his visit to Algeria, coming on the heels of the visit made by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and of the Algerian-American Strategic Dialogue convened in Washington, is testimony of the quality of the Algerian-American relationship.
He also said that his talks with President Bouteflika have also included several issues of mutual interest, including "economic cooperation, increased exchanges and investments, counterterrorism and security cooperation, as well as the democratic reforms being implemented in Algeria."
