ALGIERS- Several countries from different continents, including members of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), will take part in the "Tlemcen, Capital of Islamic Culture 2011," to officially kick off Saturday.

Twenty-nine ISESCO member countries and 12 other nations, including China, India, Spain, Portugal and the United States, have confirmed their participation. After its national opening, coinciding with al-Mawlid an-Nabawi (the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohamed, Peace Be Upon Him), the international inauguration of the event will take place with the participation of a large number of countries, which led the organizers, keen to make a success of it, to reduce the participation from one week to three days for each country.
