International women poetry symposium opens in Tlemcen
An international symposium on “women poetry” has opened in Tlemcen, part of the activities planned for the celebration of “Tlemcen, Capital of Islamic Culture 2011”.
The three-day conference, organized by the National Center for Research on Prehistory, Anthropology and History in coordination with “Abou Bekr Belkaid” University of Tlemcen, is highlighted by the participation of academics and researchers from Algeria, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Morocco, Lebanon, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
The symposium, which coincides with the celebration of International Women’s Day, essentially aims to highlight the rich and diversified Arab women poetry heritage through specialized studies and academic research, said the chairman of the event’s scientific committee.
