"Tlemcen, 2011 Capital of Islamic Culture": President Bouteflika to chair official opening ceremony
President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika will chair the official opening ceremony of "Tlemcen, 2011 Capital of Islamic Culture" event, announced Thursday here Culture Minister Khalida Toumi.
Speaking on the sidelines of a plenary session of the Council of Nation devoted to oral questions, the minister said that "the President of the Republic will chair the opening ceremony of this event, scheduled for 16 April in Tlemcen (540-km west of Algiers." As regards the participation of Tunisia and Egypt, which have witnessed recently the change of their political system, Toumi announced that they will both partake in the event, adding that "the Egyptian and Tunisian ministers have confirmed their participation in official opening ceremony."
