"Tlemcen, Capital of Islamic Culture 2011," everything ready
ALGIERS - Minister of Culture Khalida Toumi said Wednesday in Algiers that all the facilities intended to host the cultural activities and welcome participants to the event "Tlemcen, capital of Islamic culture 2011" were "ready".
"Most of the facilities planned to host major cultural events and hosting delegations and participants are ready," Toumi told APS on the eve of the official launch of the event scheduled on April 16.
Thanks to the completion recently of many hotels, the minister said that "no problem arises for hosting" delegations expected for the opening ceremony. With regards to the opening ceremony of the event, Toumi said that is will start in the early evening under a tent on the high plateau of Lalla Setti and be marked by the presence of "distinguished national and foreign personalities," the diplomatic corps as well as many guests of Algeria.
